Description of the role:
The GATE Energy Intern program exposes engineering undergraduates to projects spanning a wide range of engineering disciplines critical to the energy industries. As a Commissioning Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside a team of experienced engineers to support the design, testing, and implementation of engineering projects. This role provides exposure to real-world applications of engineering principles while contributing to ongoing projects and operational improvements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure correct project/deliverable documentation
- Present at monthly meetings and lunch and learn sessions, as required
- Develop relationships and mentorship with GATE Energy staff to facilitate learning opportunities through project deliverables
- Gain hands-on experience while employed with GATE Energy
- Contribute to department-specific projects and/or tasks and initiatives
- Align academic knowledge with practical industry applications and provide internal value to GATE Energy’s existing processes or newly proposed processes
- Gain familiarity with technical standards, safety protocols, and project management
- Develop communication skills within project teams
- Responsible for adhering to GATE policies and procedures in a positive manner
- Proactively work to maintain a positive and professional culture with GATE Energy
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering program
- Previous Internships strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
