I manage maintenance at a bottling plant where we rely on dozens of motors for conveyors, pumps, and compressors. Most of them are 10 to 15 years old and have never been evaluated for energy performance.
We are being asked to develop a phased upgrade plan, but I am not sure how to figure out which motors are worth replacing first. We do not have motor-level monitoring, and I want to avoid pulling anything offline that is still working reliably.
Are there any best practices for identifying priority motors based on age, run time, or energy waste? I would also be interested in any tools or templates others have used to build a basic motor inventory.
