I’m managing building systems for a university medical campus. Our rooftop HVAC units are one of the biggest contributors to both electric load and maintenance issues. We’ve looked at economizers and demand ventilation, but I’m curious to know what the impacts could be.
Cynthia, your situation sounds like a great case for smart controls. Upgrading controls to include zone-based VAV strategies or predictive maintenance can reduce runtime and maintenance.
